DSHS Childcare Referral (BFET)

Workforce is partnered with the Department of Social Health and Services (DSHS) to assist current students who receive SNAP/EBT receive subsidized childcare while in school.

Who can we help? 2024-01-17T19:10:52+00:00

Anyone meeting the following criteria:

  • Must have dependent(s).
  • Receiving Federal Basic Food Assistance (SNAP/EBT) from DSHS.
  • Registered for classes in an approved pathway:
    • Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) with an emphasis.
    • ELCAP/ESOL (formerly known as ESL) with an employment goal. They must meet with the Transition Success Center to develop an Individual Education Plan.
    • GED/High School Completion, Jumpstart, I-BEST, and Continuing Education.
    • Professional-Technical Degree

Current WES Students

  1. Complete the online DSHS Childcare Referral on our WES Homepage located next to the banner image.
  2. Please submit this form each quarter you plan on enrolling in classes. If you do not submit a renewal, your daycare will be canceled by DSHS.

 

New WES Students

  1. Complete the online DSHS Childcare Referral on our WES Homepage located next to the banner image.
  2. Your assigned Workforce Advisor will email you after we receive the above request form. You will be asked to complete additional forms and provide us with a valid photo ID and DSHS Food Benefit Letter before we can process your childcare request.

ORIA (Office of Refugee & Immigrant Assistance) BFET

  • At this time we are not able to support ORIA BFET recipients if they are only taking ELCAP/ESOL (formerly known as ESL) Courses.
